Pedestrians and vehicles navigate crossing the intersection of Chestnut Avenue and Forest streets Tuesday, noon, Dec. 11. The township council examines adding two more stop signs at the corner to protect pedestrian traffic to Ruthies Bar-B-Q & Pizza, a popular Montclair High School lunch destination.
Eric Kaplan, chef and owner of Ruthies calls it “a dangerous corner,” with “a lot of accidents.” Traveling westbound up the hill from Grove Street, drivers can’t see the Forest Avenue intersection, “it’s kind of blind,” Kaplan explained.
