Nineteenth century Cedar Grove painter Franklin C. Courter is famous for his paintings of Abraham Lincoln, one of which, Lincoln with Letter, hangs in the Nostrant Room of the Lillian Stockert Memorial Library of the Community Church of Cedar Grove. Pastor David Snyder reads the information plate with the painting, but it doesn't reveal how the church acquired the work in 1973.
Another painting, a pastoral scene, hangs high on the wall over the circulation desk at the Cedar Grove Public Library.
